Do you share my belief that we live in the greatest, most resilient country in the World?
Are you as certain as I am that the people of our community and country can meet the great challenges that face our nation today?
I hope so.
We are faced with many challenges today, but I know that we can and will meet them. I also believe that in rising up and meeting them we will find ourselves presented with great opportunities.
No greater challenge faces us than improving our economy and creating jobs for the hundreds of thousands of hard-working Americans that are currently unemployed. In meeting this challenge, government at all levels must support policies that allow the private sector to grow and create quality jobs that will keep people employed for years.
My record in Washington is that of an independent leader who is willing to work with people from either party to achieve positive results. My record as a public servant is one that puts an emphasis on helping people and leaving concerns about party at the door. I am not an extreme partisan like my Democrat opponent, nor am I someone who sees only the problems we face and none of the promise that our future holds.
Maybe because I have lived my entire life surrounded by people as strong as you and in communities as strong as ours, it is easier for me to be optimistic about what we can achieve and how much we can accomplish.
Serving as your Representative, besides being a husband and father, has been the thing I am most proud of in my life. It is a tremendous honor, opportunity, and responsibility to work for you. I humbly ask for your vote.
