The 15th District

The 15th District of Pennsylvania is a diverse area in Eastern Pennsylvania, comprising all or parts of Lehigh, Northampton, Montgomery and Berks counties. The district includes the Lehigh Valley, Indian Valley and Upper Perkiomen Valley regions.

The majority of the district's population lives in the Lehigh Valley - Pennsylvania's third-largest metropolitan area, comprised of the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, and numerous vibrant boroughs and townships. Throughout the nation’s history, the Lehigh Valley has always been at the center of industrial development. Today, modern industries and high tech companies continue to provide work for the Valley's many residents.

The district is known for its mix of historical boroughs and rural areas. It is home to many well-respected colleges and universities as well as to nationally-known tourist attractions like Dorney Park and the Crayola Factory.

The district’s history is entwined with the history of the founding of our country. For instance, the Liberty Bell was hidden at Zion Church on Hamilton Street in Allentown to keep it out of the hands of the British Army. Historically, the people of the 15th District have produced high quality products from confections to cement, from slate to steel and from semi-conductors to semi-trucks.

Today, the people of the District reside in a successful commercial center conveniently located within easy reach of Philadelphia and New York City. For the people of the 15th District the glow of history is the spark for a bright future.

Callahan's Approach to Anti-Semitism: Condemn When Convenient, Condone When Convenient

It was just six weeks ago that Callahan issued a press release demanding Congressman Dent renounce the independent organization, "American Action Network." The group's sin according to Callahan was alleged anti-Semitism by its Chairman, Fred Malek, nearly 40 years ago.

Never mind that the group itself was founded by former Senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota. Senator Coleman is Jewish.
