Our first campaign commercial begins airing today. You can also link to it on YouTube.
John Callahan says that his record as Mayor of Bethlehem qualifies him to serve in Congress. That's true only if you think a record of four consecutive property tax increases, leading an effort to raise the sales tax (in the middle of a recession), increasing city spending by 54% and running up a deficit of $8.5 million qualifies someone to try and fix what is wrong in Washington.
We need legislators in Congress who are going to focus their energies on getting government out of the way of small businesses and other job creators so that we can get our economy moving again.
We don't need another politician who's going to try and find "cover" for politicians who want to raise taxes instead of reducing spending. Voters don't need to send John Callahan to Congress to do that - there's plenty of politicians like that in Congress already.
My focus will be on helping small businesses do what they do best - provide jobs for American workers - not on raising taxes or trying to find sneaky ways to hide plans to increase taxes from you. That's why I'm starting with this particular message on TV.
