After all the hoopla and speeches and as President Obama’s supporters are leaving the party in Charlotte – the facts are obvious in today’s Jobs Report – 96,000 jobs created in August and July’s numbers revised downwards. What’s even more troubling is that 368,000 people left the job market out of hopelessness. So for every job created nearly four people gave up looking. It’s never a good idea to look at one month’s jobs figure and draw too many conclusions, but what we are witnessing is a pronounced trend of anemic job growth that is not keeping pace with population growth. Meanwhile, nearly 30 jobs bills sit stalled in the Senate. Read the AP story by clicking (here).
